Anna Schoenauer

Anopheles Strain Development Lead

Dr Anna Schoenauer joined Oxitec in 2021 to work on the implementation of Oxitec’s Friendly™ technology in the Asian blue tick, with a focus on developing genetic transformation methods. Anna obtained her Ph.D. in Evolutionary and Developmental Biology from Oxford Brookes University (UK) and has eight years of experience studying the genetic basis of spider segmentation and regeneration. Anna has since taken on the role of the team lead in Anopheles strain development, guiding the team through the genetic transformation and characterization phase of self-limiting products in Anopheles stephensi and Anopheles albimanus.
