Head of Global Development
and New Market Access
– Public Health
Angus joins Oxitec as Head of Global Development and New Market Access – Public Health from the Innovation to Impact project where, as Director, he oversaw a range of activities focused on improving access to innovative vector control tools. During his time at I2I he worked closely with WHO to establish the prequalification programme for vector control and catalysed efforts to streamline local registration procedures in malaria endemic countries.
Prior to this, Angus has held a number of roles throughout his career. Notably, as Deputy Director for Population Services International (PSI) he oversaw their expansion into private sector delivery of malaria case management programmes in Africa and Asia, giving him a unique insight into service delivery through private channels. He formerly served as UNICEF’s Regional Malaria Advisor in East and southern Africa and has worked for USIAD PMI in both Washington DC and in Angola, where he helped establish one of the first round of PMI programmes in 2006.
Angus holds a PhD in vector biology from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and lives on the Wirral, just South of Liverpool.
