Mark Carnegie-Brown, Chief Executive Officer

Mark joins Oxitec with over 25 years of leadership experience in life and health science sectors. His career at Zeneca Agrochemicals included R&D, business development, sales and marketing roles. In hisrole as the General Manager for UK and Ireland business, he led strategic change moving the organisation closer to the farmer and the consumer. Mark’s previous CEO roles have spanned biological therapeutics(Evolutec), device & drug delivery(Glide) and contract manufacturing(Aenova) companies.. Mark received a Ph.D. in Applied Biology with a specialty in pesticide resistance from Manchester University.

Simon Warner, Chief Scientific Officer

Simon Warner
Simon has eighteen years of global commercial experience in biotechnology R&D in various roles at Syngenta in the United Kingdom and the United States, leading collaborative programs and delivering biotechnology products in crops for feed and fuel. Additionally, whilst at Syngenta he also worked as the R&D lead on technology acquisition on various agreements. Immediately prior to joining Oxitec, he was Senior Director of Research and Development Programs at Sapphire Energy, a start-up making algae based fuel, based in San Diego, California. Simon has a BSc in biochemistry from UCL and PhD in plant molecular biology from the University of Leicester.

Ian Fieldhouse, Chief Financial Officer

Ian has more than 15 years’ experience in senior financial, commercial and strategic management roles in high-technology and bio-technology companies based in the USA,Europe, the Far East and Latin America, including US Sprint, Alcatel, Lucent Technologies, Intralinks Inc and Alere Toxicology. He has led business integrations and divestments, and systems implementations with a focus on performance reporting and change management. Ian graduated in Mathematics and Economics from Cambridge University before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse.  He continued to work for PW in both the UK and Hong Kong during which time he worked extensively with global and local companies in a broad spectrum of industries.

Tricia Whitmore, Head of Regulatory Affairs

Tricia Whitmore
Tricia has over twenty-five years of international regulatory experience.  She joins us from DuPont Industrial Biosciences where she most recently held the position of Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager, responsible for leading the regulatory clearance of animal feed additives in the EU, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and Canada.
